One thing to remember is that many systems will go offline if your battery is very low.

Also, once offline, many systems will not come back on their own even if the problem is removed.

I bought an icarsoft II unit that can read and clear fault codes.

Resetting systems after battery failure or extreme low voltage

ABS or ESP inactive message can often be remedied by turning steering wheel lock to lock with engine running, this resets the steering angle sensor settings.

CTEK MXS 5.0 is the brand and model that Mercedes rebrands and sells.

I'm thinking the 10 amp version would be better  the MXS 10.0

setting the clock

this drove me nuts for a while, when in clock set, all you could set is the hour, and not the minutes, and not the date. The secret is to set through COMAND while you are in a garage where the GPS signal is blocked, and then you see a page that shows the date and the time, and then you can set it to the minute and it will sync to the clock display in the dash.
