It's better to remove the cab first, then the shell, this reduces the pressure on the shell, making it easier to remove.

Use a fine flat blade to unhook the railings from the cab sides (4 in all), otherwise you will tear them off.

Now use the same screwdriver to press underneath on the sides of the cab and it will come off.


The round end of the trucks face outwards.


when pulling the motor shafts from the casting, the outside bearings need to go a certain way, the outside end is slightly larger in diameter than the side that goes towards the worm. Also there is a very thin washer between the worm and the bearing



Note that the longer end is the front of the loco, and the motor brush springs go to the front
